1st grade ice cream challenge!

This year any 1st grader who earns 5 points will be invited to attend an ice cream party at the end of Accelerated Reader in May! For every additional 5 points the students earn they will add a topping to their ice cream. There is no limit to the number of toppings the students can earn. The 1st grade students may take one test a day.  Books may be read to the students until they can read the books on their own as long as the children read along with the story. The books should be at the  first grade level and we do not recommend chapter books at this level.

2nd and 3rd grade Pizza Party Challenge
Each year a Pizza Party Challenge is offered for the students.
The students are challenged to reach a high goal to make the Pizza Party at the end of the Accelerated Reader program.

This year's the challenge is as follows:

2nd grade = 60 pts (2.5 pts a week)
3rd grade = 130 pts (5 pts a week)

This is a big challenge! Students must start at the beginning of the program and take tests every day!!!  2nd graders may take 1 test a day and 2 on Library day in their reading range. The children may start reading chapter books later in the year to help earn the points. 3rd graders may take 2 tests a day in their reading range and should be reading some chapter books. 3rd grade may take a third test each day that was read in the classroom as a group or by the teacher. The bonus test does not have to be in the student's reading level.
