Objective:
To learn about the religions that
have originated in the Middle Eastern region and to gain an
understanding
of the problems religious differences have caused in the region,
students will complete a web quest.
Task:
Each group member will choose one of the three religions that
originated in the Middle East (Islam, Christianity, &
Judaism).
You will represent a religious leader or teacher from that
religion. You must therefore become an expert on the religion and
then you will be expected to share your knowledge with your group.
You will each research, design, & write a web poster providing the
main points of the religion to share with your group.
Once you have finished your web poster you will complete the concluding
questions as a group.
Procedure:
1) Choose which religion each group member is
responsible for.
2) Complete the research guide
provided. This will be turned in with your project. Use the resources listed below for each religion to learn
about the beliefs and practices.
Research Guide
3) Once the research guide is complete you
will create a
web poster. Follow directions below in order to create your
poster:
a. Go to the following
web site: http://poster.4teachers.org/index.php
b. Scroll down & click
on Students: build a poster
c. You will need
the following information to sign on and create your poster:
1. Your First name
2. My last Name: Ferree
3. Class code: Each class period has their own

4. You will need to create your own password. Make
sure to write it down on your research guide so you will remember it.
5. Your area code
6. Once you fill in the personal
information click next and enter the title of your page
7. Begin entering text by
following the Web Poster Outline
8. Enter at least 2 links to
web pages you used to research.
9. You must also include one picture
related to the religion for your page.
10. When you have finished click "build my
page." This will save your poster and give you a poster Id.
WRITE THIS DOWN ON THE RESEARCH GUIDE AND RUBRIC IMMEDIATELY. You
will need
this # to edit your page and share your poster with your group.
4) Once each group member completes their web posters you will
share them with the other group members in order to complete the
concluding questions which are to be done as a group.
