Our annual Scholastic Book Fair was held on February 14 through February 17. Students shopped during their library time or came on Tuesday evening with their families.
Our theme was "Your Ticket to
Read" .
For a contest, students tried to guess how many raffle tickets were
in a jar.
The student at each grade
level whose guess was the closest to
1,976 got to pick out a free
book!
Our school also
participated in One for Books,
a program sponsored by Scholastic
which provides books to children in need. We held a contest to
see which grade level would bring in the most change. First
graders were the winners, bringing in $200.94! Each first grade
class
received a free book for their classroom, and the students had a
special carnival day in the library. Altogether we raised
$459.46!
Thanks to all of you who
contributed to this worthy cause!
